Engineering Services

Metis DE core expertise is in the use of Computational Analysis such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for the purpose of design certification. Our Team has a deep understanding of Australian and International Standards and is able to certify a wide range of mechanical and structural equipments. Our engineers are experts in FEA and can undertake complex analysis ranging from static linear stress analysis to non-linear analysis, buckling analysis, fatigue analysis, dynamic analysis or thermal analysis

As part of the design verification process, we will provide an engineering certificate and a detailed engineering report if required. All our designs are signed off by a Chartered Professional Engineer.

Design Services

With engineers coming from different background, the team at Metis DE can handle a wide range of design projects from intricate through to industrial. We use the latest technologies in CAD and CAE to successfully complete your design project and swiftly move to production.

3D CAD modelling is central to what we do. 3D models are invaluable when assessing the viability of a concept. At Metis DE, we have years of experience using parametric CAD packages such as Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor.

We have practical experience working with fabrication workshops and all our designs have been successfully put through manufacture.

Data Acquisition

Whether you need to replicate an existing design, analyse an existing part or design around an existing equipment, Metis D&E is able to go to site and undertake physical measurement using  optical or terrestrial 3D scanners. Our engineers are competent in post processing scan data (point clouds or meshed surfaces) and generating usable geometry efficiently.

We are also able to use strain gauges and accelerometers to measure strain, stress, vibration frequency and shock amplitude on existing piece of equipment to better design new equipment or input real life data in our simulation.
